175 meter hoge Eon-schoorsteen
Dyckerhoff Basal plays a crucial role in a number of highly appealing construction projects. Think for example of the New Babylon in the Hague, a phenomenal new centre built by Boele en Van Eesteren and Ballast Nedam Bouw Speciale Projecten. Dyckerhoff Basal is to supply approximately 30,000 cubic metres of concrete there, including type C53/65 and self-compacting concrete.
Another challenge was construction of the 175 meter high Eon chimney at the Rotterdam Maasvlakte in co-operation with Haverkort Voormolen BV. The colossus had to be constructed using a special composition in order to be able ascend in various weather conditions.
Finally, Dyckerhoff Basal is also playing an important role in the construction of Rotterdam Central Station. Here, the company is supplying approximately 20,000 cubic meters of concrete, of which 5,000 cubic metres is self-compacting concrete, poured at approximately 750 cubic meters each time. This is a huge amount for this type of concrete.
